ah, the ever-popular links page. i used to have a very large links page, several years ago, which i have since abandoned, and am working on building up. this is not a bookmarks list. for one, i use ie, which calls 'em favorites. secondly, my favorites list is horribly bloated, outdated, and disorganized. these are just some sites i like, that i'm not concerned will go down before i update this site next, in perhaps 2-3 years. (sad, non?)

i used to have more of these, when i maintained web pages on my school's server, and company server in addition to my primary home page. i've since consolidated them into this one site, but i'm sure i'll find more to add soon.

  • xenopsi media the small business i run with my friend, founded in 1997 or so. we make web pages.
  • my gallery in elfwood ...the largest sci-fi and fantasy art gallery on the internet. unforunately this means that a lot of it isn't particularly wonderful, but there are a good number of uber-talented folks in there, so it's definitely worth a look.
  • meilin's web page my sister. check out her gallery. highly spiffy 2d art. she has a gallery in elfwood too.

  • general amusement

okay, so these are very geek-oriented links, but what can i say? i'm a geek.

  • slashdot "news for nerds, stuff that matters." this is a high quality source for sci/tech/geek news. definitely worth multiple checks per day.
  • firingsquad formerly thresh's firingsquad. my personal definitive source for game reviews and news. it was cooler when thresh's name was on it. (thresh is the guy who beat all of quake in 28 minutes, and won several tournaments).
  • user friendly one of the best comics, imho. published daily on the net. very funny geek humor.
  • google when i first heard of it, i was rather skeptical... until i tried it. this is by far the best search engine out there. highly relevant results, and a positively enormous database to back it up. highly recommended.
  • the spark often tasteless, but the rest of it is often highly amusing. try their numerous tests, they're tons of fun.
  • garbage my favorite band, except for their newest album, which kinda blows chunks. sadly other things have taken greater priority over my interest as of late...i used to know a ton of totally obscure facts. i think i'll wait for their new album to get into them again.
  • bored.com when all else fails...until you've exhausted practically all the sites listed that seem interesting. nonetheless, if you haven't seen it, it's worth a shot.

  • possibly useful things
    psiflare/relay::practical

links pertaining to programming, web pages, graphics, and stuff. they've probably been useful to me at some time or another.

  • devguru very good reference for javascript, html, asp, css, and things of that nature.
  • php imho the best server-side scripting language. this was after 2 years with perl and an internship programming asp. and it's open source. that rules.
  • mysql goes hand in hand with php. it's free database software. highly recommended for any non-major database needs.
  • 3dcafe there are a bunch of articles on 3d graphics, some of which are retarded, but a few are kinda useful.
  • gamedev.net i think this was the site i was thinking of, i'm not sure. tons of useful articles on game programming.
  • gama sutra more spiffy game stuff. free registration required.
