wow, pictures and stuff. i used to do this kinda thing a lot more frequently, but sadly have been busy with other things the last couple years. check it out. the newer, and imho better pictures come first, and i have a bunch of older pics towards the bottom.

photoshop
psiflare/stuff/gallery::photoshop

recently i've tried my hand at various 2d work. these are the completed pieces ones...

matrix-esque
397x650 68k

first realistic 2d drawing. i'd spend an hr or so every few weeks on it until i finally decided i'd better finish it off and upload it. my sister helped with ideas towards the end, including backgrounds and fog.
cyberjedi
360x600 60k

very fast production, here. done in a weekend + a day or two. meilin helped again with a pose for two swords. this may have contributed to small hands. original design didn't have a trenchcoat, but i like the texturing on it now.
red man
550x700 101k

fastest pic i've done, in about two hours. an experiment in texturing. i had hoped for something resembling watercolors, but this is good. creepy, though. regardless, no meaning. the man is not dead. tired, maybe.

3ds max
psiflare/stuff/gallery::3dsmax

i do have high-resolution copies of these images if you're interested in using my pictures. contact psiflare@xenopsi.com for info.

base node
600x450 60k

a visual representation of an intranet in the near future, in which the internet is experienced through virtual reality. this was used for the previous version of my home page, accessible via the relics page. a similar scene was created for the current version.
the console
600x450 60k

probably the most lifelike scene i've made...loosely based on william gibson cyberpunk. maybe it's more "inspired" by william gibson cyberpunk...i dunno. i might work on it some more.
the gauntlet
600x450 60k

incorporating the fighter below, and a reasonably cheesy cruiser-type ship. most complex scene i've made on my poor old p5/233; something around 3/4 million polys. imho, cool. mostly...it could use work if max didn't lag severly entering parameters.
allied fighter
600x450 60k

something i did over a weekend...originally designed as an automated ultralight fighter, but it kinda ended up complex enough (80k polys) that i decided to make it a full-fledged long range assault fighter. in combat in "the gauntlet" above.
morpheus
350x450 20k

this was my first full shot at modelling a human head. not bad, eh? just don't take into consideration that the reference photos were of laurence fishburne, aka morpheus, of matrix fame.
tokyo international
600x450 60k

this is something approximating the internet of the near future...it was done partially as an art piece for my summer reading assignment '98. the main problem with this one is that it lacks a good bit of alive-ness. if i had time, i would augment it with a healthy dose of advertisements, etc.

older
psiflare/stuff/gallery::older

these pictures are old, and not particularly good imho. in many cases, i've lost the original scene files due to hard disk crashes etc. i keep these on my site merely as a testament to how i think i've gotten better at computer art. for version 8, i added my signature and digital copyright.

sniper
640x480 66k

hmmm...i think this one still could use some work...it's not psychological or something. nevermind. ...it was originally an autorifle, but that didn't look very good without someone holding it... for version 8 i updated this to make it brighter, which helps temendously.
deep space 1
532x400 27k

this space station is kinda significant to me cause it's one of the only things i built during my truespace-only years that i think is cool enough to show off. the original scene was lost while clearing out a hard disk onto zip disks
deep space 2
532x400 34k

ahh, heck...i think i need to go photoshop that background...
k fighter
640x480 85k

this was when i first figured out lens flares in max...<g> ...modeled in truespace. ...hey, you know that spiffy nebula and those stars in the background? that's a lens flare. it required virtually zilcho talent on my part.
mech edge
532x400 87k

more truespace. well, maybe this is cooler than the space station, but i've got lots of little pet peeves about this picture that i don't really like it. i'd redo it in 3dstudio, except i'm just too lazy. note that this features the amazing 15-minute mechwarrior. i bothered with it again for version 8 to clean it up and make the weapons brighter and w/ glows. i think it helps muchly.
pain
532x400 33k

spawned from a drawing in mr. s-c-h,-u-c-h,-a-t's 8th grade history chalkboard that really freaked out a couple people. yeah, i dunno. it's simple, but strangely amusing.
stealth fighter
640x480 47k

ahh...i had such high hopes for this fighter...i had originally thought this would be my last fighter...until i made the allied fighter and gauntlet scenes...first it was just a fighter, then it was gonna be a null fighter doing urban patrol, and then i got sick of the thing and put it somewhere over an ice planet which would've been an ocean planet, if only i could get the splash to look right. i added a little more contrast for version 8.
pyramids
532x400 46k

the oldest work featured here. hmm...it's kind of interesting, though strikingly simplistic, meant in a bad way.
the thing in the matrix
532x400 30k

...i think i recall never finishing this one because it began to eat up too much ram on my puny old p5/100...ah well.
winter jeep
532x400 55k

largely ripped off of a much better image from the max gallery. ...one of these days i might get around to doing something like this, but more original.
